Australia’s largest used car dealer in the Southern Hemisphere, Car City have announced their backing of Tyler Everingham as he heads to the Mountain for the Bathurst 1000, 16-18 October.

Car City already have a presence in the Virgin Australian Supercars Championship as personal sponsors of Bathurst champion David Reynolds, as well as Kelly Racing’s Andre Heimgartner. Everingham, who is represented by the same management company as Reynolds and Heimgartner, shared his relief at today’s announcement.

“I’m just so excited to be racing in the main game at Bathurst – it’s a dream come true. I know that this wouldn’t be possible without the support of all our sponsors and to have Car City partner with us is amazing. They’ll feature in a big way on the rear of our GRM Supercar,” said Everingham.

Car City was established in the 1980’s by ex-racer Tony Stewart. Today Car City, has a presence in Sydney and Melbourne. Managing Director, Ruvi Herzog OAM, describes 2020 as one of the most challenging years for Car City due to COVID-19 restrictions, so the opportunity to be seen at Bathurst with another and up and coming star was too good to refuse.

“We all watch Bathurst – it is one of the most watched events on the Australian calendar. Our dealers love it too, so this was an opportunity for all of our dealers to be involved as we look forward to a strong finish to what has been a difficult year for all,” said Herzog.

“We wish Tyler, and of course David and Andre a safe and successful Bathurst 1000. Car City is right behind them!”.

The Virgin Australia Supercars hit the track for practice one Thursday 15th October, with practice sessions continuing on Friday as well as a qualifying session. Saturday will see the Top Ten Shootout, which will set the grid for Sunday’s iconic 1000km race due to start for 11:30am local time.
